  47.     To elaborate on my response:  I've had good, nay, GREAT success in
  48. archiving >image< data on the PC side, with transfer to the Amiga side, using
  49. HiJaak's JPG compression.  AAMOF it is what makes xfer thru TWIN EXPRESS
  50. practical for my idiosyncratic (read: nightmarish) hardware configuration.

  52.     re: object & scene data:  Of course JPEG is useless here, but I've
  53. found that the files are small enough that compression is not much of an
  54. issue.  I have used PC-LHA decompression successfully; such compressors are
  55. widely available on bbs's.

  57.     Most bulletproof:  no compression until safely on the PC side.
  58.  
  59.     Biggest potential headache:  uncompressing long file names using a
  60. DOS-only decompressor.  (YOW!)
